Why NeuroRx Institute Is Telehealth-Only

Updated: Aug 21

At NeuroRx Institute, telehealth isn’t simply a convenient alternative to an office visit. It is central to how we designed our model of medication care.

Psychiatric medications can make an enormous difference in people’s lives. They can help with attention, mood, anxiety, sleep, and the ability to regulate thoughts, emotions, and behavior. But these are also powerful medications. Using them well requires more than getting a prescription—it requires appropriate evaluation, monitoring, communication, and adjustment over time.

We believe much of that can be done exceptionally well through telehealth.

Medication Care That Fits Into Your Life

Traditional psychiatric care can involve long waits, travel, time away from work, and difficulty reaching a provider between appointments. Our goal is different: make high-quality medication care easier to access while maintaining careful clinical oversight.

Through our virtual model, patients can meet with our integrated team from home. Just as importantly, care continues between appointments. We use secure patient communication and online tracking tools to help monitor symptoms, medication response, side effects, and progress.

If something changes, we want to know about it.

Virtual Doesn't Mean Disconnected

Medication management should not occur in isolation. Mental and physical health are closely connected, and psychiatric medications can have effects that require attention to a patient's broader health.

That is why, with appropriate patient authorization, we coordinate with primary care and other medical providers when needed. We also strongly encourage collaboration with a patient's therapist when one is involved.

Our model brings psychologists and psychiatric medical providers together so that medication decisions are informed by careful psychological assessment as well as medical expertise.

Access + Monitoring + Collaboration

For NeuroRx Institute, telehealth is not about putting distance between patients and their providers. It is about making the provider easier to reach.

Our telehealth-only model is built around three things:

Access. Get evaluated without unnecessary travel or long waits.

Monitoring. Track how medications are working and identify problems early.

Collaboration. Stay connected with an integrated psychiatric team that can coordinate with the other professionals involved in your care.

Psychiatric medications deserve to be used carefully. Our job is to help patients use them safely, effectively, and as part of a thoughtful overall treatment plan—without making good medication care harder to obtain than it needs to be.
